About Belle

I’ve lived your life on board. Now I help you feel good doing it.

Hi, I’m Belinda Henry, but almost everyone calls me Belle.

I’m a professional sailor and an Integrative Health Practitioner, and for the last twenty years boats have been my workplace, my home and my way of seeing the world.

My story

I didn’t grow up sailing. I found boats in Australia in my early twenties, and by 2006 I was doing my first Mediterranean season. Since then I’ve worked just about every role on board: deckhand, stewardess, chef, first mate and captain.

I’ve done the charter seasons, the yard periods and refits, the long ocean deliveries and the race seasons, inshore and offshore. I was first mate on SY Maiden’s world tour, sailing around 30,000 miles through 12 countries to raise funds for girls’ education, and these days I race with The Magenta Project, where I’m also a mentor for women coming up through the sport.

So when you tell me you’re running on four hours’ sleep, living on crew mess leftovers and coffee, or haven’t had a proper day off in weeks, I don’t need it explained. I’ve been there.

My own health is what brought me to this work. From a young age I dealt with migraines and stomach issues that doctors couldn’t explain. A friend sent me to a naturopath, and learning about gut health, with a few simple changes to food and supplements, made a bigger difference than anything I’d tried.

Then life on boats did what it does. Years of back-to-back seasons, constant travel and pushing through burned me out. Studying integrative health was how I found my way back, and I kept sailing the whole time I trained.

And everywhere I worked, I saw the same thing. We look after the boat meticulously: every winch serviced, every system checked, every job logged. But the people running it are exhausted, wired on caffeine, bloated, not sleeping, and told it’s “just part of the job.”

It isn’t. It’s your body telling you something, and you deserve someone who understands both the science and the schedule.

How I work

I don’t guess. We start with at-home functional lab testing, shipped wherever you are, so we can see what’s really going on with your stress, gut, hormones and nutrients. Because everything is connected, we look at the whole picture, not one symptom at a time.

Then I build a plan that fits your actual life on board: the galley you have, the hours you work, the rotation you’re on, the passage you’re about to do. No gym routines you’ll never get to, no diets that fall apart the moment you’re back on board. Everything is online, so it travels with you.
